S.O.S Al-Anon Open Meeting

Alachua Club

4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

If someone else’s drinking has affected your life, you are welcome here. S.O.S. is an Al-Anon Family Group that meets weekly in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. Meetings are free, confidential, and open to newcomers. Al-Anon is a mutual support fellowship for families and friends of alcoholics. It is not AA, and it is not for the person with the drinking problem. It is for the people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking — whether that person is a spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, partner, or loved one. Al-Anon does not offer a magic formula to stop someone from drinking. Alcoholism is a complex problem, and there are no easy answers. But Al-Anon can help you learn how to cope with the challenges of someone else’s drinking, understand how alcoholism affects families and loved ones, and find healthier ways to respond. At Al-Anon meetings, members share their experience, strength, and hope with one another. By listening to others who have faced similar situations, many people begin to feel less alone, gain new understanding, and take things one day at a time. Whether the alcoholic is still drinking, sober, in recovery, unwilling to get help, or no longer in your life, Al-Anon may offer support, perspective, and hope. This is an Open meeting, which means family and friends affected by someone else’s drinking are welcome, and observers are also welcome — including professionals, medical personnel, students, reporters, and anyone interested in learning about the effects of alcohol on families and loved ones. Meeting Location: The Alachua Club 32 N. Third Street Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Handicap accessible. S.O.S. Al-Anon Family Group AFG #2564 North Florida District 3 You are not alone. Newcomers are always welcome.

Barnabas Center

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Starting April 1, 2026, please feel free to drop into our Studio from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for our weekly Wednesday open bowl painting sessions. These were such a great success last year, and we encourage you to roll up our sleeves, grab a paintbrush, and paint a bowl for the Barnabas Center’s 13th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon! The event will take place on November 24, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, and we would love to have you join us once again for an evening of creativity, fun, and fabulous bowls. As you remember, our Studio can hold up to 30 painters at a time, and we encourage you to invite people who might be interested in learning what goes on at the Barnabas Center and how we help people in Nassau County. Tours of our facility are available during any bowl painting event. We will be limiting our painters to ONE bowl each time that they come into paint.

S.O.S Al-Anon Open Meeting

Alachua Club

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
