South end of island fishing bridge, go fishing, or go and ask people to see the different kinds of fish they caught, watch as someone catches a fish, especially a larger fish on light tackle. Take water and snacks, make it an adventure.
Big Talbot Island, just over the south end bridge. At low tide only, discover the adventure of Boneyard Beach, dozens of driftwood trees and branches marooned on the beach.
Further on is Black Rock Beach, but not real rocks, try to figure out what they are. At high tide, woodland trails to enjoy walking or bike riding.

Go north on 14th Street, all the way to the end, at the public boat ramp. Walk to the end of the concrete seawall, out over the water. Look close and you might see dolphins, or in warm weather, manatees. An interesting boat or two may pass by as well.
Bird watching on the Egans Creek Greenway. Take binoculars. Miles of trails for walking, running, or bicycling. Stay away from any alligators you might find, you are in Florida, always be careful.
